In the Fall, humankind did not lose their humanity, nor – at the other extreme – did they merely lose the above hypothesised post-creation gift. Humans as God-imagers are built for wisdom, holiness and righteousness and each of these facets of imaging capability were affected by the Fall. In addition, immortality is necessary for proper imaging so, being under the sentence of death, post Fall humanity was no longer fit for purpose.
